Lawn mowers
What has to be done before starting the engine?
Fill the fuel tank with unleaded gasoline. In the oil tank, pour the proper oil for lawn mowers with four-stroke engines 600 ml. We recommend oil for four-stroke engines Villager. Regularly check the oil level in the engine.
How often do I need to change the engine oil?
For a new lawn mower, the first oil change needs to be done after the first 5 hours of operation; next oil change is done after every 50 hours of operation. Oil change needs to be done by an authorized dealer.
Which spark plug to use?
Mowers with Briggs & Strattion engines use Oregon Code 77-301 spark plug, the mower with OHV engines use Oregon Code 77-303 spark plug.
How to replace the blade on the lawn mower?
Knock the mower back towards the handles, it is not recommended to put the mower on its side, because of the possible occurrence of oil overflow. When the mower is knocked back you will have an open access to the blade, which can easily be removed by unscrewing a screw.
Chainsaw
Starting the engine?
Do not start the saw until it is completely assembled and inspected.
Ensure that you have a safe footing and place the saw on the ground so that the bar and chain are not close to anything.
Before you begin starting a new chain saw, read the instruction manual. The product can be damaged if you do not follow instructions for use. User’s manual contains very important information regarding security that must be respected. When starting the device, follow the procedure below:
- Fill the fuel tank with the proper mixture.
- Move the power switch to the ON position.
- Fill the fuel pump by pressing it a few times until you see fuel in the primer bulb
- Pull back choke lever (choke).
Pull the starter cord several times 5-6 until you hear the sound of the engine. The engine turns on and immediately goes off. Further attempts at pulling the starter rope can cause overflow of the motor fuel, the so-called flooding. Do not pull the starter cord more than 50 cm, and allow it to return slowly.
After starting and stopping the engine, return the choke lever (choke) to its original position by pushing the lever forward.
Repeat pulling the starter rope until the engine starts.
Gently press the throttle lever to turn off the throttle blocker
Before you start cutting switch off the chain brake by pulling the brake lever towards you.
How to start a two-stroke engine in case of overflow of the motor fuel - flooding?
- Place the unit on a flat, dry surface.
- Remove the spark plug from the device and remove the cap from the spark plug.
- Open choke for the flow of air and then pull the starter 8-10 times to discharge the excess fuel out of the cylinder.
- Leave the saw in the open air for 20 minutes so that fuel from cylinder evaporates.
- Dry the spark plug and put it back in its place.
- Perform the normal starting of the device as it is shown in the manual without activating the choke.
What to do in case the engine will not start?
If you cannot start the engine, the problem is usually related to the delivery of fuel and lack of electricity. Make sure the fuel is supplied to the carburator and the cylinder. Check whether the spark plug throws sparks. If everything is in order there is a possibility that there an overflow of fuel occurred – device flooding. If the problem persists, we recommend that you contact your nearest Villager service center.
What is the correct fuel mixture?
Villager products with two-stroke engines run on a mixture of petrol and two-stroke oil. We recommend the use of Villager two-stroke oil. The ratio between the petrol and the oil is 40:1. Do not use diesel fuel.
May I leave the fuel in the device?
Fuel should not be stored in the device because it can create layers that adversely affect the operation of the engine and the mixture loses its lubricating properties of the engine. If the unit is to be stored for longer than 30 days, empty the fuel tank, start the machine and let it run until it goes off at its own. Then you can be sure that there is no fuel in the device fuel supply system.
How often should I clean and change the air and fuel filter?
Air filter must be cleaned after every 5 hours of operation. Replace air filter once a year. Replacement of the fuel filter needs to be done once a year.
Which spark plug to use?
Use Oregon Code 77-324 spark plug.
How to lubricate the bar and chain?
For lubrication of the bar and chain Villager recommends chain oil - lancol Villager.
What causes the chain not to rotate?
If the engine is running and the chain is not rotating, check whether the chain brake, which is located on the front of the chainsaw in front of the front handle, is activated. Deactivate the brake by pulling the brake lever back. If the chain is still not rotating, go to the nearest service center.
Trimmers and brushcutters
How to start a new trimmer or brushcutter

Fill the fuel tank with the proper mixture.
Move the power switch located on the trimmer handle to the ON position.
Block the throttle lever in half throttle position
Fill the fuel pump by pressing it a few times until you see fuel in the primer bulb
Pull back choke lever (choke), activate the choke

How often do i need to grease the gear head?
ear head must be lubricated regularly to prevent damage to the gearbox caused by great friction. During the cutting season, lubrication checks are done every 15 days. Loosen the screw for lubricating at the gear head, if there is grease on the screw the lubrication is not necessary, if there is no grease on the screw you need to perform lubrication. For lubrication Villager recommends Oregon graphite grease.
